Justine Lee (Australia’s number 2 ranked female amateur and NSWIS scholarship holder) was one of the four women who represented Australia at the recent Trans Tasman Cup held at Royal Wellington Golf Club in New Zealand.
The Trans Tasman Cup is a combination of the previous Australia versus New Zealand match play contests conducted by Women's Golf Australia and the Australian Golf Union.
It is made up of four categories of four players each. The Boys' Category contest the Clare Higson Trophy, the Girls' Category contest the Junior Tasman Cup, the Open Men's Category contests the Sloan Morpeth Trophy, and the Open Women's Category contests the Tasman Cup. Each play foursomes and singles scratch match play over two rounds.
The overall winning team holds the Trans Tasman Cup for one year.
Overall result in 2010 is: Australia 31 defeated New Zealand 17
Sloan Morpeth (senior men): Australia 7½ NZ 4½
Clare Higson Trophy (junior men): Australia 9½ NZ 2½
Tasman Cup (senior women): Australia 9½ NZ 2½
Junior Tasman (junior women): New Zealand 7½ Australia 4½
The Australian team produced a display of near total dominance to win its fourth consecutive Trans-Tasman Cup 31-17 – Well done Justin and Australia!
